My visit was great! Dr. Wilson was the best Veterinarian I could’ve ran into for my situation. I told her I didn’t have much, she told me about Affirm. I was able to get an extra credit amount. She told me she wouldn’t charge me for diagnosing the Anemia, I came in with my Vet telling me my chihuahua needed a blood transfusion but no reason why. Dr.Wilson knew she had to find the reason before giving blood transfusion. She was able to get a guess before the next shift change and get it confirmed by the other Dr.’s. She tried to discount what she could on her end. Everyone treated Caramel with care, I had no issues with the care at all. I also didn’t know VEG has beds for parents to stay in while their pet gets hospitalized. I found VEG by calling and asking emergency pet hospitals if they have payment plans. I still don’t know who I talked to on the phone but she said they might be able to figure something out depending on the situation and it destressed me while trying to find an affordable emergency for a blood transfusion.
My visit would’ve been a 10/10 if I just had my Dr. the whole time, or at least if only the Dr. I started with handled the invoice. Dr.Wilson ensured she would try to lower the price as much as she could. I told her I only have $3300 max, and she told the shift change Dr. as well. She was still a great Dr. and I’m very thankful for her contribution to saving my little girl’s life, but she capped the invoice to $3900 (which was still lower than the high estimate) and I maxed everything I had but couldn’t afford it. I already used 2 credit cards for certain amounts and I wanted to try if I could just get the rest on my debit. It wouldn’t work since I only had $400. I started crying because I wanted to pay but I didn’t have enough. The receptionist talked to the shift change Dr. and they just capped it at what I already paid. Which was less than what I was going to pay with Dr.Wilson so it was very generous for them. I recommend VEG.
