This summary is for convenience. The full policy below, together with our Terms of Service, is what governs.
This Privacy Policy explains how Vet Receipt (“Vet Receipt,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use vetreceipt.com, upload documents, ask us to find a clinic (“Estimate Help”), or otherwise interact with us. It is part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service. The Terms govern the license you grant us in content you upload, our disclaimers and limits of liability, and how disputes are resolved; nothing in this Policy limits the license in Section 2 of the Terms or the treatment of business information in Section 3. Veterinary clinics using our clinic tools are also covered by our Clinic Terms.
Information you give us.
Information collected automatically.
Information from others.
Phone calls.
We use AI tools to read the documents you upload, organize prices, summarize care requests and sort clinic replies. These tools work for Vet Receipt only:
Our team may review AI output to check quality. These tools do not make legal or similarly significant decisions about you, and they do not provide veterinary advice.
Clinics are independent businesses, not agents of Vet Receipt. Once a clinic has information you chose to share, its own privacy practices also apply; our Clinic Terms require clinics to use case information only to offer you care, keep it confidential, and not resell it or use it for unrelated marketing. Files you share may be saved by the clinic, so sharing cannot always be undone.
With service providers who process information on our behalf and only to help us run Vet Receipt — such as hosting and storage, document processing, email delivery, website analytics, payment processing for clinic plans (we do not store full card numbers), mapping, security, and phone and text messaging.
Publicly, in de-identified or business form: aggregated prices and statistics, redacted invoices, clinic profiles and business information, and reviews you choose to publish (as described in the Terms). Automated redaction may not be perfect; if you see your personal information on Vet Receipt, contact us and we will remove it.
For legal reasons: when we believe in good faith it is required by law, legal process or a government request, or needed to protect the rights, property or safety of anyone.
In a business transaction: if Vet Receipt is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
With your consent or at your direction.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not give your personal information to advertisers.
If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive texts, we may text you about your care request — for example, that a clinic replied or offered appointment times, booking confirmations and appointment reminders. These are service messages about a request you made, not marketing.
We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number, or your consent to receive texts, with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text-message opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party except the service provider that delivers our messages.
We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies and similar identifiers, to understand how people find and use Vet Receipt. We also save small settings in your browser’s local storage. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party advertising pixels.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Some features may not work as intended without cookies or local storage.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as California’s privacy law or other U.S. state privacy laws, or Canadian privacy law — including rights to know, access, correct and delete personal information, and to appeal a decision about your request. We honor these requests from all users where we reasonably can, whether or not a law requires it. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
What deletion covers: we will delete or de-identify your personal information and original uploads. As described in the Terms, we keep extracted price data that has been separated from your identity, redacted documents with personal details removed, aggregated data already built into our statistics, and business information about clinics, which is not personal data. We may also keep information we need for legal obligations, security, fraud prevention or dispute resolution.
To make a request, email [email protected] from the address on your account. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and an authorized agent may make a request for you with proof of authority. We aim to respond within 45 days. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision.
Much of what makes Vet Receipt useful — typical prices, clinic pricing and benchmarks — is built from de-identified and aggregated data. We keep this data in de-identified form, do not attempt to re-identify it, and may use and share it for any lawful purpose, as described in the Terms.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls and limited access by our team. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your account access (including sign-in links and codes we email you) to yourself. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
Vet Receipt is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Vet Receipt is based in the United States, and we and our service providers process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. If you use Vet Receipt from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.
Vet Receipt links to clinic websites and other third-party sites and services. Their privacy practices are their own, and this Policy does not cover them. Veterinary care you receive from a clinic, and the records the clinic keeps about it, are governed by that clinic’s policies.
We may update this Policy as Vet Receipt changes. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date, and if a change is material we will give notice on the site or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Vet Receipt after an update means you accept the updated Policy.
